2014 Fashion Trends by Bravo TV Stylist Marcus Stewart

As expected, 2014 will bring loads of trends and fun frills from head to toe.  But, in this ever-changing seasonal fashion paced world it’s very hard to stay on top of what’s hot and what’s not!  From neckties to the return of the male stylized loafer, The Fashion Doctor has the results and is here to give you a fashionable prescription for Spring 2014.

Neck Scarves

Old Hollywood GLAM has returned in a small, unexpected accessory.  From a 50’s glam-inspired side knot to a noble ascot look, The neck scarf is back and chicer than ever before, designers such as Marc Jacobs and Etro showed there fashionable interpretations during fashion week. This is a great way to update dark denim and a fitted blouse or add a feminine flare to a solid pant suit. This classic look can be worn day or night, add in bold printed neck scarf for a more modern artistic look.

The Mule

Let’s hope no one has skipped “leg day” during these cold winters because Spring 2014 is sure to be all about “The Mule”.   This trend has been slowly sneaking its way back into our lives.  Designers such as Alturzarra and Victoria Beckham showed us modern and clean versions of this shoe.  The Mule is back in many different styles such as the wedge or stiletto.  Don’t be afraid to get on board with this major trend.  Mules can replace your everyday stiletto and will add a quick update to any skinny trouser or fitted & flirty dress!

Structured Bags

Ladies, it’s time to add structure and stability to your daily wardrobe. Nothing says serious yet stylish like a structured leather tote.  Designers such as Michael Kors and Dior showcased these bags for Spring 2014. The structured bag is a classic and very practical accessory for the modern woman.  Don’t be afraid to take this bag from boardroom-chic to cocktail-glam.
